Looks like your motor mount adapter plates have slots to adjust them can you drill em out a little bit to slide the engine back a bit???? Or change the plates

 

I may have to change the plates. I got the adjustable motor mounts because I knew the ability to adjust the position of the motor forward/backward would be nice when trying to fit a new engine into an old car. The problem is, as the motor sits now, the only adjustment possible would be to slide the motor toward the rear of the car. The motor is already forward as far as the mounts will allow. It is almost touching the firewall right now, so i actually cant move the motor forward or back. I am a little dissapointed with the dirty dingo motor mounts. I also cant use my low alternator mount with these mounts either.

 

What year is that pan? My 99 is flat on the bottom.

 

I'm not exactly sure. I bought the motor from somebody. Now that I compare it to LS1 pans it has more of a rounded look than flat.

 

I guess if all else fails you could change the pan to an autokraft.
This is the best pan I've seen for clearance.
I have one for my twin turbo LS in my 72.

I just looked at the number on the bottom of my pan. Its GM #12614822 which appears to be an LH8 pan. It does sit quite a bit lower than my cross member, so i'm a little concerned being that the car is lowered. I may have to switch it out for an autokraft pan or something with more clearance.

 

That is NOT an F-body oil pan. That is an LH8. You don't need an aftermarket one, the F-body pan will work perfectly.

Thanks for the help guys! My dad actually has a stock fbody pan off of a 2001 WS6 that he cant use. I will get that from him and save myself some money

 

Be sure to remember to grab the dipstick/tube, oil pickup, windage tray, and baffle as well. All those combined brand new are why the kits are so expensive....and the new gaskets are like $40.
