I've made 4 passes. Hopefully I'll get out this summer. I'm installing a 3.00 gear and fixed the shift linkage, and adjusted the carb, so it should be quicker. Drove it to the track and was around 17 mpg that day.

I do have issues with hi rpm shifts. I'm thinking that the linkage is shoved against the trans tunnel, so I spent some time clearancing it, but I haven't driven it since.
Usually the un modified synchros are to tough to disengage at hi rpms. I had a muncie with the liberty gear set in it years ago. They use nickel gears sliders and big dogs on the hubs no synchro rings. They called it a Crash box. I still have it. It shifted great. Best of luck with your car. Ernie.

Very impressive on your truck. 5:13 with 30” tires, are you just about out of rpm at 94 mph?
Not out of RPM, my truck is setup for driving and 1320 racing, runs 11.15 in 1320. It would be quicker with 500 RPM of stall and a 5.38 gear, but it drives excellent around town with the 5.13s, not so good on the hi way, but I can run down the hi way if I have too.
