I have what could be either a 68-9 396 or a 70-72 402, most likely out of a truck originally, it's running in the car now, was rebuilt and rodded in 82, it's the two bolt main version. Anyway, I keep hearing that most of the 396/402 blocks have more than enough meat to bore them to 427 and beyond if I get it sonic checked. I was wondering if there was anything else different between typical 402/427 blocks? Basically what I'm trying to say is that I want an honest to goodness 427, so if I bored the **** out of it would everything else be the same as the L88 427s that came in copo and yenko cars? (excluding heads)
