That yellow wire does not make sense, where does it go to? The pink wire should be the key on (ign) power.

It is connected up top for the coil and follows along with the purple wire down to the starter with its own ring connector.

Also, my starter only has 2 studs, not 3 so not sure if it should be connected with the purple wire? I am pretty sure the yellow wire is the old 12v supply for a points system and can probably be deleted, but just want to make sure.

 

I just did my 68 with AAW. The yellow (in my kit) was an option for the old ballast setup. I didnt install the yellow line. On my 68 the starter solenoid is the purple wire (only one it needs)

 

I have the same set up, but I can’t recall where the wires go. your best bet is to call AAW. I called them a few times especially when I was connecting the MSD box and I even requested that they explain it to me like as if I were a 2 year old…..they laughed and they did explain it like that

I’ll take a look at my set up tomorrow but like mc1984ss said that yellow wire doesn’t make sense.

 

I recently built my own engine harness and did a lot of research to eliminate all the unused wires. With the old setups the pink and yellow went to the (+) side of the coil. Pink is your power off the ignition switch and is still required but in your case it will be going to your box. The yellow can go away. The brown wire you see at the starter is actually a fusible link that connects to the red wire feed (+) to the horn relay for the cars internal power. It still needs a direct battery source they just used the starter in the old days as a junction point. I mounted a remote battery post on the firewall to serve as that junction now. The purple comes off the ignition switch and goes to the starter solenoid for starting.

Sorry to answer your question the pink wire that should go to the coil (+) goes to the small red wire on the box. The yellow is not needed.
