My project didn't come with a gas tank, or a filler tube, or a cap. So I'm wondering if the caps for these are vented or not?
If I went with an EFI setup of an LS1 engine, would the gas cap have to be vented then?
I guess I'm really asking all of this because I want to shave the gas filler cap from the car. Although I've seen cars with them shaved, I haven't seen where they run the new filler tube to. I was assuming they ran it into the trunk, but wasn't sure if they had to be vented, because the smell would end up in the trunk, right?
Guys with fuel cells in the trunk: How do you keep the gas smell from filling up the trunk and passenger area?
I thought maybe the tube could be shaved and run to the license plate for a flip down plate, but I don't think there would be enough vertical length of tube to keep the gas from rushing out of the cap upon acceleration.
Any ideas?
