Shaving 66 Nova gas caps - are they vented or not?

My project didn't come with a gas tank, or a filler tube, or a cap. So I'm wondering if the caps for these are vented or not?

If I went with an EFI setup of an LS1 engine, would the gas cap have to be vented then?

I guess I'm really asking all of this because I want to shave the gas filler cap from the car. Although I've seen cars with them shaved, I haven't seen where they run the new filler tube to. I was assuming they ran it into the trunk, but wasn't sure if they had to be vented, because the smell would end up in the trunk, right?

Guys with fuel cells in the trunk: How do you keep the gas smell from filling up the trunk and passenger area?

I thought maybe the tube could be shaved and run to the license plate for a flip down plate, but I don't think there would be enough vertical length of tube to keep the gas from rushing out of the cap upon acceleration.

Any ideas?

On our pro-street '67, the filler is run under the trunk floor and out behind the license plate, as done on the Chevelles and some other models.

The car has been in pieces for so long I can't tell you exactly how the tubing is set-up, but you'd want to do it the same way as the Chevelles and similar cars. Those cars don't have an issue with the gas rushing out of the filler upon acceleration.
