Hello all, A while back I installed a new firewall pad on the inside of the firewall. I had a bear of a time installing the plastic push rivits through the firewall and ruined a couple. Luckily I had saved the old ones and was able to make them work. Now I am trying to install the plastic piece under the steering column and am having trouble with the rivits again. I thought of drilling the holes slightly larger but only as a last resort. I have tried heating up the rivits but then they colapse when trying to push them through the hole.Any ideas? Thanks Jerry

I just pushed them in as far as I could then went to the other side of the firewall and grabbed them with pliers and pulled them snug.
