thanx mike... looking at your pic shows me that the support is curved towards the firewall ... is this correct ? i'm not talking about the notch. wish i knew how to send a pic of my mock up...
DeAnne,
I looked for the instructions from Chevy2Only and I could not find them in my inbox. You should email Chevy2Only and ask for them. The curved part is towards the firewall and needs to be joined with the panel there, the hole you mentioned appears to accomodate the seat belt bolt. This is being installed by the guy doing my body work, I have just been an very interested observer.
Sorry the picture is dark. It is the only one I have.
The clam shell is an extra support for convertibles that runs along the rocker panel. In my case, the drivers side had about 10 inches of length that was rusted out and the panel that is forward on the firewall (also unique to a convertible) was all rusted out. For my convertible, the Chevy2Only supports and frame connectors are being used to restore the rigidity. The panel forward of the firewall will need to be fabricated, too. Here ia pic from Chevy2Only showing a good clam shell support.
