Can the stock BB crossmember used with a 4 speed M21 transmission be used with a 700R4 automatic...?

Anyone tried it...? Just wondering what mods need to be done to make it work...or am I going to have to buy a new crossmember...?

Can it just be moved back and made to work since transmission is longer...?

I used the stock cross member for my old th350. Cut the center out, dropped it and moved it back. Added perches on each end of the member where it mounts to the frame. The show Muscle Car also did this.

just
i used my stock 6 cyl. pg crossmember. just moved
it back 3 inches.lined up front hole with hole that
was back hole before moving drilled new back holes.

700R4 question.....
