I never noticed that the SOAs were 1974 only. Strange that they were for the bicentennial, but offered 2 years early.

I've seen stats that they made a little over 14,000 so not sure if they were intended to be offered for 3 years but were stopped due to low sales (if that's considered low sales I'm not sure.)

I had to waste a 74 Spirit of America Nova many years ago as the body was shot and needed plenty of parts off of it to put onto the first one I bought from Texas.

I have only seen the SOA Nova's in white exterior with white seat upholstery and red carpet. The dash pad on both of mine were black. The interior panels such as the door panels, kick panels, rear quarter panels and hatch area panels were in white also.

The biggest problem I have run into is finding decent to good interior plastic in color core white. GM had issues with the plastic in this era as it would come apart and luckily I got what I could years ago and stashed the parts until the time comes to getting back to working on the car and putting it together. I also bought pieces in black to where I may have to change the color on them and hopefully not loose too much grain detail.

The SOA's are getting harder to find in decent shape and I'm glad I got mine when I did to save it. Every once in a while I come across parts for mine and not too long ago a guy on the east coast had a couple sets of the special center cap emblems made and I made sure I bought some (and some spares just in case  ).

Maybe it's just a normal 74 they added the SoA stripes to, or the car was repainted and the stripes put back on. From everything I've see all of Chevy's SoA cars were the white with red/blue stripes and accents.

If it really is an SoA car, then yeah a total waste. Recently a guy in Texas posted up a pic of a SoA car he's got, looking for advise how to tub it and turn it into a drag car. While not pristine, it's in pretty darn good shape. All the commenters told him to restore the SoA, sell it, or at least get a beater Nova and chop it up instead.
