I had a small water leak from the front of my 1974 inline 6 nova, so I bought every gasket and then ordered the water pump and thermostat housing while I was there. The water pump was part number GMB 1301010. Comparing parts they seemed exact, so I went ahead and put it on, no issues still. The issue occurred when I tried to put the pulley on, the water pump had a small spot where it hit the pulley, while I wasn't happy it wasn't the end of the world, I took my grinder and carefully took off material until the pulley didn't hit. Has anyone else had this issue or heard of it before? (Last photo was with the fix) Oh and yes the shafts where the same length.

Yes, I ran into this exact same issue with the same brand on my old 250 about a year ago. Seems that somewhere down the line the molds have gotten a little off... There were no issues after a little grinder work and it never leaked, just a PITA.
That is exactly the issue here. GMB does not do any remans and they are Chinese made. Somebody in their R&R department just got it wrong...
