Help With Electric Choke

A new motor was put in my 74, it has a 750 edelbrock with electric choke. The choke will not close the choke flap when engine is warm or after a quick blip of the throttle after the engine has been ran for a little while. It idles at 2k RPM. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's not likely that any of the components are broken as it's only about a month old. Also, I checked and there is 12V going to the two leads on the choke so that is not the problem.

The choke should not close when engine is warm, only when cold. You should have 12volts on one side of the choke and ground on the other,if you have power on both sides of the choke you are missing the ground side.

That might be part of your problem there isnt suppose to be 12v going to both. One is a ground. Sorry I did not refresh before I posted so I didnt see the other post. Make sure your 12v connection is a keyed connection as well not a constant 12v.

If the electric choke won't OPEN after the engine starts and reset to normal idle speed,,,sounds like the vacuum pull off isn't adjusted properly or getting vacuum to the pull off piston.
You might check the high idle cam,,it may be sticking in the choke position.
