Went to the first Carlisle

Back in the day I went to the first fall Carlisle meet, I was able to park in fron of the school right next to the entrance and I got there at 8am! It is 110 miles from me. Have not been there in a while now but went many other times after that first one. All I can remember is walking all day in thick mud! I think it is stone or blacktop now, the hills were a killer, especially up where the cars for sale were. It was fun though. I always came out with something I was looking for.

This will be my 31st year for Carlisle. :bounce: :jumping: :turn:  :notworthy:   :D

I have 2 vendor spaces (NH36 & NH37) and 1 car corral spot (CA60), come pay me a visit.

If the Canadians already drank all my beer, then you'll have to bring your own. :D

By the way since I have not been there for a while am I correct in saying that most of the flea area is stone or blacktop now? I can't imagine people still walking thru that mud, it was so thick back in the day that it used to suck my boots off when I tried to take a step! Something I will never forget!

Man it HAS been awhile since you've been there hasn't it?

You can pretty much walk around in sneekers when it's raining.

Only some of the vendor areas get pretty bad still but only when it really pours.

Glad to hear that Pandora! maybe I will stop up there! But if you have been going all these years then you know what I was talking about with the mud back in the day. They sure take in enough $$$ there, glad to hear that they improved it. Are you going to be selling any 67 nova parts? I just posted a list in the wanted column. John

Yea the Millers have been doing a pretty good job of taking care of the facilities over the years. Hell, they have to give you something for all the money people give them!

Parts wise, I'm taking all kinds of stuff but my bread & butter is Pontiac. I'll have some Nova, Anglia, VW, Misc. GM, Drag Racing and whatever else I can fit in the truck.

I'm not sure what I'm putting in the car corrol spot yet. It could be an old Jaguar, something I just pick up, or maybe even Pandora's Box!

Seats...

Hi,

I was just wondering if any of you Carlisle regulars know of anyone bring some bucket seats and/or a rear seat that I can have my father-in law pick up? That's if I can't make it...

Or if there is any available before Carlisle would work as well!

If you want original buckets then you'll have to search the grounds. However if you just want buckets in general then there are many sellers that will have them. I have some Pontiac Fiero buckets, both with and without speakers in the headrests. Due to site rules no one can discuss deals in threads so if you are interested you'll have to PM people.

Seats...

Sorry, I appreciate the suggestion but I am hoping for original seats. I am willing to fix them up if need be! Although the car is going to be far from original I still want to try and keep it visually in the era...

There is a service on the grounds that will haul your parts to the gate nearest to your car.

At a cost of course.

You can also drive your vehicle in for parts pick up but I don't recommend it. Driving on the grounds is pure hell with all that is going on.
