The shop which did the rebuild and install for my 700R4 said he just had to pry the floor slightly with a screwdriver to make it fit. I brought the crossmember (Bowtie Overdrives), driveshaft (Vega), pre-wired the lockup circuit (provided by Mike Goble), and had a floor shifter installed already. A friend of a friend recommended I use the stock TV cable from an early 90's Chevy pickup and the appropriate bracket. It would not get WOT, so I ended up deitching to Lokar for the bracket, TV and throttle cable. Many here are using the TV-Made-EZ setup by Bowtie Overdrives and are quite happy with it. There has been a post or two about linkages, but a search of that subject should yield something for you as I can't remember the details.
I can provide you with part numbers on the above mentioned items if you'd like, just drop me an email.
Hope this helps
