I plan to install my new 200-4r this tomorrow (Saturday) but Bowtie Overdrives will be closed. I understand they want me to call them with all the pressure readings in all gears at IDLE and 3000RPMS. Also while driving shifting though all the gears but NOWHERE in any of my paperwork does it state what the pressures should be (range). The warranty depends on me calling BTO with all these readings prior to driving it. It would be nice to know up front where they should be.

Are the pressure ranges a big secret? What are pressure ranges supposed to be? How would you change the pressures if needed? I want to make sure I know what they are supposed to be before I tackle this tomorrow. Bowtie Overdrives won't be open to assist. My buddy needs my car out of his shop this weekend.

Any input would be appreciated.

Dave,
I'm not a tranny expert, But I have a book on that tranny. the book shows these pressures.
Neutral 55 to 75 psi
low or D2 120 to 160 psi
Drive 55 to 75 psi
Reverse 85 to 140psi

All at 1000 rpm, brakes applied (DUH) Also says do not take more than 20 seconds per reading, and no longer than 2 minutes total test time. Hope this helps. good luck

Hey, FunkyNova66, I have a new 2004r too, that has yet to be started, I would much appriciate to know what pressures/gear BTO gave you if it differs from what was stated in this thread.

Thanks in advance,
Bornfree
I'm under the impression the pressures may vary depending on the internals. Mine was a level 3 BTO 200-4R. I'd be happy to give you the ranges but I would only use it as a reference. I'll put it up here in a little while.

Got the tranny installed. Piece of cake. Everything went smooth. Got to end of the install and the damn X-pipe on the exhaust is hitting my new cross member. The new 200-4r cross member sits back about 4-5" further back than the powerglide crossmember. So I have to take it to have the x-pipe relocated back about 5" on Monday at R&J before I can test it out.

Just when I thought I was done......

Can't wait to see how this tranny feels.
