One of the great things about this site...a thread from August, 2007 can be revived in December, 2009 with a ton of great new info. Love it. Even got a Mopar defector talking Novas again:D.

For those not at the NorCal Donut Run this past weekend, I have a confession. I was in negotiations on this EO car while writing the above posts. It is literally an "old lady from Pasadena" car. I have the protecto plate. Purchased new in January 1965 from Champion Chevrolet on Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA. 283/PG, Tri-Volume horn. From what I was told and based on the condition of the springs in the driver's seat, she wasn't little, though. The car has 10,700 original miles on it including the original date coded spark plug wires. The lady owned the car late in life, was handicapped, requiring a walker, so the car has its share of dings and dents, but it still has the original paint - Evening Orchid. The lady's mechanic ended up with the car, but he died recently. I purchased the car in AZ from his widow.

PS. I was quoted a $100 upcharge for stock upholstery made in a non-stock color by PUI. Hmmmm. Tempting to purchase a white SS interior, especially since the seats really should be redone for the springs and disintegrating foam underneath. I don't think it would detract from the car, so long as it looks factory. Might even add to it.

Btw

I parted a 62 Tuxedo Black rust bucket 100 series four door sedan about 10 years ago. I still have the original trunk, fenders, and hood. It had a three speed trans with a posi rear. I might even have the cowl tag somewhere!

Ted ,
Thanks for bringing it by and letting be the forst to see this gem find I thanks Jeff for reminding me I have three os each of all them johnny Lighting cars I'll have to give you one come by and get one this week !! awsome car guys!! spiral shocks and even the spark plug wires are original !!

Evening Orchid looks better on smaller cars like the Nova. It also looks great on the Corvair Coupe. It looks bad on any car that's dirty or when it becomes faded.

Profound !!!!!!!! I would venture to say that any color looks bad when it's dirty or faded or full of chips or has been in an accident or just got dragged out of the swamp!!!!!!

I say pay the upcharge and have PUI do up the interior in white stock pattern. I had a black vinyl interior in my 66 Cloner 2 dr sedan and it was not available in 66 !! Nobody ever questioned it. You could even say it was a special order......... just for conversation!! Just do it (as Arnie would say!!)

Ric in Mexico 82 degrees and cold Crevesas !!!!!

Hey ******! Profound is right! Not too many people here would disagree that some colors look worse than others when they're dirty. Also in the 60's some colors faded worse than others. Evening Orchid falls into both categories.
I remember Bill Green Motors here in Abbotsford repainting a year old EO 1965 Impala SS because the finish had faded so badly. EO also frequently took on strange hues when dirty, sometimes almost a pinkish appearance.

Is a 'Crevesas' a non alcoholic beer:D:D.

Anybody see the EO 65 Impala SS that sold at B-J late last night (Friday)? It was a 409 automatic with 31 factory options. Looked great and sold for $70,000.
