I have the ZZ4 engine and its only got about 200 miles on it. I dont know if this is normal or not but cold the engine is at about 50 psi in oil pressure at idle. But as it gets heated up the engine drops to about 27 psi? I just had to re-adjust the timing today to get it right on and this is the first time I have seen the pressure drop this low. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

What's the pressure above idle? Your engine only makes about 20 hp at idle and there isn't any load. It doesn't need a lot of pressure at low rpm.

What oil are you using? My ZZ4 holds 23 -25 PSI at idle warm and about 50 PSI at 2000 RPM. Preasure cold is less than 5 PSI higher at idle. It never goes above 50 PSI. I run Mobile 1 5w30. My engine has about 8K miles on it.

I was reading up on it and I think im fine. I use 10w-30 though. They were saying that the oil pressure should be higher and then drop to between 20-30 warm.

Ive always heard 10 pounds for every thousand rpms so if ur turning the motor 5500 rpms you should have 55psi

Factory spec is a min of 12psi at idle (650rpm) with engine at temp.

What you see is very normal.
