Hum
I find this issue kinda hard. I am stilling running mine as it came. And I run a Long stye ram clutch with a 6finger disk and a 2600-3000lb ajust able pressure plate set at around 2800.And there is no slip in this bad boy.Once you feel it slipping It was gone a long time before that. Also have steel motor
mounts. No rubber. So how are you guy braking these??Or bending them??

They tear...crack at welds...twist or just plane o'l break in two.

Mine torn at the end with the frame bracket. It was the original 67 Z- bar it was born with...just repainted in 98 and took another 10 years to twist. Easter Sunday on the way to lunch at Dads and it just kepted getting harder to shift and put in gear and I gave in to a flat bed. Guy took many picks of my misfortune. :D

The will crack, split, tear, break, or some combination over time.

Yes all of the z-bars/bellcranks are the same on the 62-67's: 6 cyl., V-8, 3-speed, 4-speed. The V-8 used a different adjustment rod assy. to help line up with the release fork.
