im installing a headliner in my 71 and i got the front and back glues in and everything looks nice and tight but when i go to do the side im getting wrinkles in between the bows. here are some pics of it.

iv been reading online and most people say using a hair dryer should get small wrinkles out but i want to make sure these arent to big.

are these wrinkles to big to use heat to get rid of?

thanks

Have you watch this video? Seems they trimmed some of the listing for the bows to stretch it smoother.

The last one I had installed we had to use a hair dryer on the sides, shrank the wrinkles right out. You can park it in the hot sun too they tell me. I had a full cage in the car and had to get a friend who was smaller than me to put it in and he told me about the heat.
don't glue anything until it's all pulled tight... then pull the material here and there, readjusting the clippies until headliner is smooth... as you pull the clippes and glue, continue to smooth out the wrinkles. make sure you pull the headliner TIGHT or it will flip-flop in the wind (when windows are open)

the headliner will pull tight and the wrinkles will disappear... if it's somewhat in the properly installed position... just PULL it tight. ;)

i'm not a fan of the heat gun as if it's held in the same place for too long you can damage the headliner... best bet is to just pull it tight...
thanks guys. i got it fixed, the problem was that the listings werent cut all the same length so when i went to pull it tight one was longer then the other so it caused wrinkles, cut them all to the same length and re cliped them and glued in the passenger side last night, i should be finishing it up today.
Post up picture when its all done! Glad you got it fixed.

hopefully some of the small wrinkles will go away when it gets hot in the car with the windows in it.

Not bad and I'm sure some of the little wrinkles will disappear in the heat. I did mine and some disappeared and some remain but all in all it looks fine.
