i was wondering what is the widest tire and rim combo you can get onto the rear of the 1st gen novas with a mono leaf spring? and not ones that rub going around every corner or hitting every bump..

thanks in advance

I was able to get a 225/ 40 on mine with an 8" wheel and no rubbing. Tried a 245 and it would not work. With the right backspace I might be able to make a 235 work.

i currently have an 8'' rally wheel with 4.5'' of backspacing and a 215 65 15, and this combo is no problem, i wanted to maybe go with a 7'' rally w/4'' of bs and go with a 235 60 15 mt drag radial....

You might need a little more backspacing to make that work Jon. Do you know Cam Lumen's son? He runs a wheel place on Route 66 that can make you different backspacing.

I haven't worked in over a year. I just sit and harass people all day!

I think you need about 4.25-4.5" backspace to stay away from the lip.

my 64 I had a 15x7 ralley with a 215/65-15 with no problems. A 235/60 will fit but with a shallow centerline 15x7 with a 5.5 or more backspace. Maybe try a weld wheel 15x8 with a 5.5 back space.
