I am getting ready to put my front fender, valence, hood latch, and headlight bucket, and all other parts back on my wagon.
It has been long enough that I no longer know which bolt goes to which place.
Bottom 2 bolt are self explanatory, top bolt has a smooth washer.

The problem is that I have cleaned a number of them so I have extra for a second car.
so flat/serrated bolt goes???
pointed/serrated goes???
and
pointed/flat washer goes???

any help on this one?

Thanks!!!

Mark

I was told a long time ago, and it made sense to me, that the pointed ones go where there is a jnut, since the jnut is movable the point helps line it up, and the flat one goes where there is a set nut. I use the flat washer pointy on painted sheet metal like the upper fenders. I dont know if I would get points deducted at a purist event but thats what I've done. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Mark .. Hi there ....

my thought is -- I don't think it maters -- meaning, that different years used different type / styles of bolts .. then, the aftermarket bolts were still somewhat different. As long as the bolt fits (mean- does not bottom out or DOES Not look like it's correct .. in that location) ... then , your good to go.

example :

#1

#2

just install matching bolts --- to match 'left & right side' .... where people may see them.

(other wise --- I won't tell anyone ........ lol ).

and , be good to th' wagon ....
