where does this go?

I am running a Rochester 2gc on my 250 inline 6 (anyone wondering if they should do this should quit wondering. Made a huge difference in power.)
here is my question. Where does port A go? Should I run it to port B? I believe port A to be a choke pull off but could be wrong. What are your thoughts?

A is a hot air choke. It woudl have run to the heat crossover on the manifold on the original engine. B is the bowl vent, it would have went to the charcoal canister.

I would get an electric choke conversion kit for it if it will clear the valve cover. You could also run a metal line down from A next to the exhaust manifold to pull in hot air. Uncap B so the bowl can vernt to atmosphere or you could have fuel startvation.

You can, but it's also fine to just leave it open.

what do you think of this? the pipe is open at the bottom.

It should work. It will pull in some hot air. It may take a little longer for the choke to come off, but you should be able to compensate some with the adjustment. On the original engine this carb would have had the tube sit in a pocket or hole in the manifold.

If you are only using the car in warm weather I bet it will be fine.
All - very good answers .

pdpdub . . . . . that's very interesting = using your 2GC , 2bbl carb with your 250 L6 .

What I would like too ask - - - - "we need more info about this up - grade " !

I also know that SNS Member - taters ; was mounting a 2bbl carb onto the stock L6 (one barrel) GM intake.
I = myself have bought the OFFY 4bbl intake & Holley 390 CFM carb . . . . . . . . . . which has been the best up-grade , that I have done - on my stock 250 engine.
(plus = I had a very good 1bbl Mono-Jet carb, that ran 'great' for several year (I just wanted the 390 carb). With my old 1bbl carb , I was getting a constant 15 - 17 mpg .
My 390 Holley carb gets 21 - 22 mpg , and I do drive it kinda hard (more fun , having those back 2 barrels) .

Then , Here IS My Question , for you . . . . .

Can we see
any pictures that you may have about "using your 2bbl carb" . . please.
Your Carb Throttle Linkage - and, how does that work ( ? ) . Any other info . . could help many SNS members , that are using those 'bum Rochester 1bbl carbs' .

I have listed those parts , about my 69 up-grades .................. and, I even "stretched-out those dollars" , for a couple of years , when making my changes ; plus, I was still working.
Maybe I just got really lucky with getting my Holley carb (I have had my carb off = once (too adjust my 'auto choke' . . . . installed right out-of-the-box ; installed back in 2017) .
AND, those 390 carbs are Going "Higher , as we speak'" .

Can I also ask = what current tranny are you using , with u'r L6 . . ?
By installing my 5speed , that was the SECOND Best up-grade , done too my Nova (3 pedals - for the 'fun factor' - vroom / vroom) .

Thank you ,
jim

part numbers ? . . Vendors / suppliers ?
which carb mounting system , did you use (one barrel adaptor, for the 2bbl carb) ? Summit list about 8 each, different one bbl - two bbl adaptors. (for the stock intake manifolds) .
home made throttle system = or store bought items ?
Pictures are " Golden " , for sure .
any other "secrets" . . ?
