More details about the car would help but 85% of the cars out there don't need a "fancy" battery.

Many people buy a high dollar battery because they "think" they need it or their friend has one in his car.

With that said an Interstate battery is one of the best choices.

X2 on the Interstate batteries. They also have a nationwide warranty and great customer service. RICK

X3 on the interstate. I was a dealer for them, and never had a bad experince with them. Had a few batteries here and there that were defective. But call them up and I got" no problem we will send out a replacement" I run them in all my vehicles
Duals in the diesels, cars, bikes, lawnmower work great with warranty.
I have an Optima battery now. Got it at a good price.
But I've used many other brands over the years.
No problems with really any of them.
I just always made sure I had 1000cca models.

Why???
well my battery is in a bad spot and i dont want to mess with it again i have jumper termials but just want a good battery. it will be in street/strip 383 523hp 560tq 10.1 mini starter ele.fans 1 for radatior and 1 for trans cooler ele. fuel pump and will be adding nos and maybe ele. water pump.
Battery is in the trunk.
I run the power cable all the way from there to the starter.
Had a stereo with subs earlier in its years.
Never wanted to leave myself with not enough cranking power after I've had the stereo thumping with the engine off for a while.
Locked ignition timing now as well.

Dosen't hurt to have more CCA's than too few.
I'm a very happy Optima customer too, I have one in the race car and in the trailer. I like the fact of no acid issues, I think they're worth the extra $
Surprisingly, I have to agree with Pandoras Box!:D

Just kidding Bro!!

Interstate has always been a very highly regarded battery and I've used them without issue. That being said I've also used Autozone Duralast Golds with equal results.

I was lucky enough to have Oddessey donate a battery to my project so, naturally, I took them up on their most gracious offer!:D

How many times do you go and start your car when it's zero out???

Cold cranking amps (CCA) is a measurement of the number of amps a battery can deliver at 0 ° F for 30 seconds and not drop below 7.2 volts. So a high CCA battery rating is especially important in starting battery applications, and in cold weather. This measurement is not particularly important in Deep cycle batteries, though it is the most commonly 'known' battery measurement.
i dont start it at all in the winter. The battery sits on the DSE crossmember on the passenger side and the power shut off is behide the plate and i also have jumper termails back panel pass side but is is the only pictures i have and they weren't in yet.

Is there something wrong with having a 1000CCA battery?

My car dosen't like being started when its below 5C/41F let alone trying when its freezing out haha
May not be as knowledgeable as others on the site but in my reading I have discovered most of the batteries are made by 3 or 4 manufacturers and appropriate labels are added based on who distributes them.
Optima bought out several years ago and batteries coming from Mexico now with less quality. Heard good things about Interstate, AC Delco and Costco/Kirkland batteries. The Costco Batteries are much cheaper and have no pro rating for the first three years I believe so it doesn't work you get a new one period. Have the Costco in my DD for about two years without a problem. Did put an Optima in my Jeep because of the banging around it gets off road and it's better in high vibration environments.
Have an Optima in my Nova but it is an old one and still undecided what will replace it when the time comes.

Replacement Optima in the Nova $185.
Replacement Costco/Kirkland in the Nova $129.00

i also have an open battery box and i think when i go to the track doesnt the rules say battery has to be enclosed or run a dry cell or somthing like that?

Nothing wrong with it, it's just overkill therefore over priced.

I believe that if the battery is somewhere other than in the engine compartment it must be enclosed and have some form of fire protection between the area of the battery and the driver's compartment.

I'm not 100% certain on this one, check the rule book.

I find many things are over priced these days lol
I probably wouldn't have bought the Optima battery if I didn't get the deal I got for it.
Also have seen many a cars with "overkill" things done at a huge expense.
Car looks like a 8 second ride and it does 11's??? what the heck!? haha
Who knows, they could be on their way to having it run 8's.
I LIKE OPTIMA AND DIE HARD, ON THE CHEAPER INTERSTATE!

You've got that right! :D
