Depends on your future plans....what mods are you planning on doing later, particularly what cam do you plan to run, that will tell all......i am doing a 5.3 swap in my 78 nova, going to use 200r4 transmission, going to run edlebrock carb set up with quick fuel slayer 600cfm, the motor will be stock for now, looking at 3.42 gears, that stall speed should i use?
Use a stock stall. The Corvette stall is 2080 rpm, and perfect for a stock engine.......have used three of them and they work great. In addition, the cost is considerably less.....my plans are to run it stock for some time since the motor only has 8000 miles on it
Im also running a 5.3 with a 2004r transmission and a 12 bolt with 3.08 detroit tru-trac rearend gear. Transmission guy set me up with a custom 10" converter to save on weight with a 2400 rpm stall. Havn't fired it yet but soon:yes:i am doing a 5.3 swap in my 78 nova, going to use 200r4 transmission, going to run edlebrock carb set up with quick fuel slayer 600cfm, the motor will be stock for now, looking at 3.42 gears, that stall speed should i use?
