While stripping the old paint off of my 64 I found this this strange coating on the metal, only on the rockers. It looks like lead but could also be a some sort of galvanized coating. Anyone here know what I'm dealing with? Thanks.

It is a galvanize coating. This was done at the factory. I would not remove it, unless there is rust or damage that needs repair.

There is some rust pitting on the rockers , so I had to take a good majority of it off already. Just happy to hear its not lead. Thanks a bunch!
