Just went to put in my driveline, and I dont have the straps to mount the U-joint to the rear end. Does someone know the correct part number to use for these. When I tried to find them, the only ones I see are for 12 bolt....

Thanks:)

Straps....I think 66 and prior, they used straps, not bolts. I didnt know this until I went to install my driveline. I see Moroso has some girdles that might work, but not sure....part number 85810.

I would measure the hole locations on the yoke and then order accordingly and then order a 1310 Spicer based off your measurements, although I'm sure somebody knows a part number for a stock 10 bolt.

I know you're looking for a universal joint strap for your '66 but according to the Assembly Manual your yoke uses a U-bolt, not a strap. I can't help you with finding a strap but here is how I found that the '67 most likely used the same U-bolt as the '66.

A '66 assembly manual wasn't listed here on SNS but there was a '67 which would have most likely been the same for the '66. I went to the '67 Assembly manual on this link:

https://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176265

Clicked on Part 3&4 which is a .PDF file and scrolled through to page 56 which shows the universal joint and U-bolt....not a strap, so it looks like the '66 would also have been a U-bolt.

Looked up the designation at the top and found the U-bolt GM # is the same as the '65 that I had already looked up, which is 1358938. So it appears that the 1 & 2 generation Novas used the same U-bolt.

I then went to:
https://www.amkproducts.com/

Opened the page and then clicked on:
https://www.amkproducts.com/Catalog_PDF.htm

Clicked on 403-BC at the bottom of the page listings.

Opened the page and scrolled down to page 408 and looked at the lower right hand column which listed 1358938 as being on page 36 of the AMK Catalog.

Went back the AMK Catalog page and clicked on the .PDF file 24-38.

The U-bolt in question is located at the bottom right corner of the page 36 and is listed as B-13225. With this part number you get 2 U-bolts for $7.00.

Yeah, I know this sounds complicated but this is how I found the U-bolt that you needed.

Now to make it easy for those that don't want to know how I found it.

I have bought a lot of screws, washer, bolts, etc. from this company. The parts they offer are discontinued surplus buys and are suppose to be NOS original parts.

Looking up the GM #1358938 I found several sources so the U-bolt is still available. Here is just one:

Hope this helps!

Well now. That's very strange. I most certainly can't explain that unless the differential assembly has had the yokes changed at some time. Good Luck. Sorry I didn't help.
