Here is a scan for the welding knob settings and actual volts/amps for the positions. Keep in mind this is for short circuit mode only with .030-.035 solid wire with 75-25% min. mix gas or flux wire. These numbers change with larger wire and with other modes of welding which I won't throw in the mix to confuse everyone. Short circuit is the mode for doing small thin gauge and tacks. The knobs should correspond with each other (volts,ipm) with the optimum setting for thin metal should be the 10:00 position or 210ipm and 16volts. Using this formula for these specific conditions your settings should never go past the 1:00 position and that is going to be smokin' hot for thin metal and will burn through. Try starting at the low end of the scale before advancing. Hope I made this simple to follow. Forgive my lack of drawing skills as I am now used to drawing in CAD. lol
