The best way to measure is to get the rims and tires you want to run, put them where you want them to be in the wheelwells, and measure between the mounting surfaces. Anything else is just a guess.

What are you trying to accomplish....wider tire? With a mini tub you can usually compensate with a custom offset rim. It would be cheaper than shortening a rear end.

IMO the 10 bolts are great rear ends, and I am running one right now, but if you are going to go to all that trouble, sell that one and get a good 12 bolt.....

There's already a 10 or 9.5inch rim on the car. Just playing around in my head of a deaper dish wheel.

Well FWIW my friend joe's 63 is mini tubbed but the rear end is not narrowed and he was stuck with a 15x7 centerline convo pro with a 5" offset. Nothing else would work. So today I pulled out the rear end and its gonna get shortened. We're using a Weld Pro Star 15x10 with a 3.5" backspace and a 29x10 slick.
