i am having my 67 nova restored/painted, and the painter took out the vent windows. They are in good shape, just need new rubber. What is the best rout to do this? Any pointers would be great. thanks

The trick is the upper hinge. You need to drill out the rivets, but what you want to do is just drill off the swell without drilling into the hole in the frame, then remove the rest of the rivet. Unbolt the bottom hinge & spring and clean them up - mine were a bit rusty so I used some real penetrant, not old WD-40 (I use a 50/50 mix of diesel and 90 weight). Replace the rubber and reassemble using pop rivets for the upper frame hinge.
