i need i bit of help on this one. do vortec heads have a 3 angel valve job? does this meen i need vortec valves of can i use normal sbc head valves?

Your machine shop can do 3 angles, or 4 or 5 or a radiused seat--if you're putting new valves in old heads, you should have someone that knows what they are doing perform the work.

Absolutely!! The angles as well as the margins of each cut vary greatly!! It seems every cylinder head specialist has a favorite valve job for different cylinder heads.:yes: AND the valves need to match!!:eek::yes:

I think to clarify what the others are saying is that you shouldn't just drop in new valves. They should be ground to fit the seats. I do the seats and valves even on brand new heads. Find many that aren't sealing 100%. At the very least do a machinist dye seat check.
