so im putting on a new carb tomorrow, and i'd like to do away with whats left of the emissions hoses. most arent even connected to anything.

i guess what i need to know is which tubes are ESSENTIAL to a happy running straight 250.

nothing looks like its hooked up correctly so i'd like to start from scratch.

no booster… so really just pcv and advance? awesome, that'll make things look alot cleaner. i dont even know what the previous owner did…its a mess.

Keep the vacuum connection to the transmission.

^^^^^ yes ^^^^^ if you have an automatic you will need vacuum.

just make sure the trans gets steady vacuum and the advance gets the variable vacuum

can this be removed? im not seeing it in my manual for some reason…

im thinking i'll remove it and replace the hollow bolts with some nice allen head bolts.

When I got my car, the PO never hooked up the vacuum to the auto trans, and even commented how the transmission "clunked a bit" when it shifted.
It was a noticeable "clunk".
Hooked up the vacuum, shifts like butter now. The flex hose on the transmission side kept slipping off, had to replace it.

mine definitely clunks a bit… part of it is the column shift sticking out of gear though.

This is where the air/smog pump attaches take out the rail and plug them you will be fine.

I think you will have to use Pipe plugs on those. Not bolts.
