I am looking at a t5 World class to put in my 72 and I didn't know if it would fit. I believe that I read on another thread that the t5 will not fit without some modification on the 'tunnel'. Is this correct? Has anyone done this swap?

Also, the seller of this trans tells me that his bellhousing can only take a 10" flywheel and I have a 400 chevy motor. Does anyone know if there is a 10" flywheel that can fit a 400 (external weight)??

You didn't say what engine the t-5 was bolted to. A V8 t-5 should bolt up to your bellhousing. The V-6 transmission has the standard bolt pattern as well, but I'm unsure of the input shaft length. It doesn't care what size clutch or flywheel you have. Just make sure the clutch disk will fit the tranny, then select a t 10.5 or 11 inch clutch to match your flywheel. The V-8 T-5s use a 26 spline clutch. The 3.1 V-6 T-5s used a 14 spline clutch disk.

You will need to take it easy on the transmission. Most 400s produce a lot more torque than a T-5 can handle.
