Well, since we didn't have much planning participation...we made some decisions and hope people show up. The date will be June 6th at Reid Park Ramada #20 in Tucson @ 10am. Entry fee will be $12.00 per person 12 and older, 11 & under will be free. Entry fee will include hamburgers/hotdogs/chips/cake and cover additional expenses such as park usage, napkins,plates,utensils, etc... Also we will be collecting an optional donation for a local non-profit organization. The deadline for payment will be May 15th. We decided that NON-alcoholic drinks will be provided by the participants. So a cooler, ice & will be required along with any folding chairs/pop up shades you want to bring.
If interested in attending please reply to this thread, and include the number of individuals and if you're bringing a Nova or vehicle of interest to the event.

Yes, each party will bring their own drinks, this will cut down on expenses and trying to figure out what everyone wants to drink. There are stores close by the park, for any last minute, unplanned, missing items that always seem to pop up. I will look into the hotels and help obtain any maps, directions, or anything else you may need. Just let me know....

The address for the park administation office is 900 S. Randolph Way Tucson, AZ , that will get you in the right area if you do a mapquest or google.
The park is pretty large, probably the biggest in town. There is a DoubleTree hotel on Alvernon across from the park which might work.....but probably your best best would be close to the airport I think there is about 7 of them all grouped together. I would stay away from Downtown and South. Tucson areas for both your car and personal safety.

I wouldn't stay near the airport, I would stay at that Double Tree earlier mentioned. That is a nice place and safe for your car. Here is the hotel.

What is wrong with the hotels near the airport, other than the possible noise issue? They are all fairly new, and look pretty nice granted I haven't stayed there but I wouldn't have a problem But then again, I am from the SW side

For the same money I would stay near or farther north east. Hell, the rates for La paloma in the summer are worth it to stay there. Only about 15 min from the park and in the foothills with 4 pools!

When it gets closer to the date I will look for a hotel and have you check out the ones I am looking at.
The days that I will be there depends on where I am working at at the time. I am hoping to get there on Fri and leave on Sun. This way we might be able to hit a cruise night at a burger stand or something on Fri or Sat night.

Alot of people have expressed interest, but I'm still waiting on payments so hopefully they are not all talk. I'm still pushing it, and hope to get some more people in the next month. Right now it's been pretty quiet, hope to get that spark going soon!

Don't do that. You just need to keep trying. Remember our BBQ's started off small also.
I know if more people were working more of us would make it out there.
