Hey all...
I am having huge FOMO and am trying to see about locating my '69' NOVA.
I have the original pink slip, so I have the VIN.
When I sold it, we couldn't find the pink... hence still having it.

Although, if it is impossible to do... I would like another for a project, and I am finding it hard to locate one that needs work/ isn't completely redone.

HELP!!! Thank you. ;)

If you list the last 6 numbers of the vin, it's a long shot, but someone may have it. Welcome to the site. After 25 posts, you can put an ad in the "wanted" swction. In the mean time, you can keep an eye on the for sale section. Good luck, and welcome aboard!

Welcome to the site..
I’m not sure if FOMO (The fear of missing out) is really what’s at play here if you’re longing for a vehicle that you sold and want to recover. Maybe it’s more a case of sellers remorse..

Anyways, if you have the license plate number and it still has the same plate on it you may be able to find it through that piece of information in addition to the VIN.. Maybe if you can track down the party you sold it to.. You may not be able to find it if it has been sold and the buyer hasn’t completed the transfer of title an registered it..

You might just have to move on..

Welcome. Finding a specific car you once had is rare, but it has happened. As mentioned, try and contact who you sold it to (people are easier to find) and go from there. Common problem with trying to find through sites by VIN is that the older VIN numbers are a lot shorter than newer cars and they aren't recognized.

Relative to new project, this is a good site (as well at Bring A Trailer, Craiglist) to see what is available for sale. When you visit this site, on the top right side of page there is a "NEW" button. Click on that and anything anybody posted will be retrieved. Look through the post and see what you might find.

Good Luck on your search.

Current privacy laws (largely due to the Calif incident) make easy VIN searches now difficult. Are there still LEO's doing them for people? Probably yes.
Instead, I'd find a southwestern example and go from there. Do know a Guy (El Paso TX environs) who likely has 5 to 8 third generation projects. Most were bought for a song, back in the Day, (circa '80) when such cars could be had for a few hundred bucks (A lot of money, for most people back then). Most sitting for 30-35 years, or More. Titles? Not likely, there are still ways to title older cars, but it is getting harder and more expensive every passing year. Believe the title companies start at about $600 per vehicle, and go Up from there.
