Has anyone installed a Tremec TKO 600 with the hydrualic clutch in a 69 Nova? The instructions say you have to attach the bell housing to the transmission then attach to the engine. How do you get the back of the engine low enough to be able to do the install. I've been told the engine has to be pulled in order to assemble the trans to the engine. ??

It depends upon which hydraulic system you're using. A concentric hydraulic throwout bearing will likely need to be installed after the bellhousing is on the transmission.

Either way, you need to ensure that you've corrected any runout that's present before you bolt the bellhousing to the transmission. Offset dowel pins can be used to adjust the bellhousing to block position and fix the runout.

Personally, I'd recommend using an externally mounted slave that actuates a traditional style throwout arm. MUCH easier to deal with when the seals go out and need to be replaced. Dropping a transmission to replace the concentric type is a PITA. (Speaking from experience.)
