Fixin to put my tranny in, new tremec 5 speed, does the roller pilot bearing have to be greased? Thanks in advance.

Mine was dry when I got it. I washed it good with lacquer thinner, blew it dry then greased it with the red wheel bearing grease. It has been in for three years now and no problems. Uh!OH! You know what happens when you say everything is ok.....

When I installed my Tremec TKO-600, I called Keisler's tech line about using grease. They said to leave it dry.

You don't want any grease getting flung out and migrating on to the friction surfaces of the flywheel and clutch disc.
