I'm sure this has been covered before, but I couldn't find anything definitive. Plan is to put a Tremec Magnum 6 speed behind an LS in my 65. I'm aware the transmission tunnel will need to be modified, but what about drive shaft clearance? Will the stock driveshaft tunnel be OK? Rear end is 9" & 4 link. I want the car as low as possible without sacrificing much driveability. Thanks in advance to anyone who has gone this route before.

Mine is pretty low for a 67 but I think you will have to replace the whole tunnel to really get it low.

The drive shaft clearance is not an issue on my 67. It sits in the middle of the drive shat loop with the 4 link.

I'm going to put one in my 63 wagon, still trying to figure out the crossmember issue. I have a CBR 4L60 crossmember and may make some brackets to bolt to the CBR frame ties. Also running the CBR 4 link with a narrowed Moser 12 bolt.
I have a 3.5" diameter aluminum driveshaft, will that fit in the stock tunnel?
Thanks.

Mine is a 3.5” drive shaft. Not sure if the wagon tunnel is different.
