my powerglide trans takes about 5 seconds to kick in from drive to reverse and now about once every cupple days ill kick it into reverse and to get it backing up i have to give it more gas than normal , it goes back about 2 feet stops then goes stops its very jumpy during this . really it feels and probably is reverse kicking in and out . What s the deal, is my transmission dieing? i have fluid topped up lol

when trans is warmed up check the fluid and smell it. it its real dark and smells burnt then you have problems. it shouldnt take that long to go into gear...
