:chev: I have just aquired an engine and tranny out of a mid 80's C10 4wd. The engine is a low mileage crate motor...but the tranny is what my question is about. I was told its a 3 speed, so I'm assuming its a th-350. How do I tell what it is? Also, I pulled the transfer case off the end of the tranny, and it looks like I may need some type of adapter.

I believe you will need an output shaft and an output shaft housing. I happen to have both for the 9 inch output shaft housing that I would love to send down the road (taking up space).

you can id auto trannys by the shape of the pan, im sure thats what the link above goes to


a 350 has a square pan w one corner cut off
