I plan on putting an 1988 TPI and 700R4 into my 1966 Nova Sport Coupe and was wondering what kind of gas mileage i could expect?The engine and trans will be stock with 72,000 miles on them.This will be a weekend cruiser.One day i would like to do the LS 5.3 swap into something(1970) but since i have 2 of these setups(TPI/700R4)i want to use at least 1 of them.

If i could get around 17-20 average i would be happy.The car does have a low Stall Converter(1600-1800RPM) and 3:08 gears which i will probably change(gears).The main reason for the swap is hopefully the Fuel injected engine will run better(smoother) than the Carbed engine i have in it now.I have everything for this engine including a brand new TPIS harness so not much to loss but a little install time plus i do like the looks of the TPI.

My 72 El Camino had an 89 TPI 350 with the 700R4, 3.73 gear and easily got 22 on the highway and 16 around town. That monster weighed 4250 pounds and with the bone stock TPI with the AC on ran 14.5 in the quarter mile.
