TOUGH Question..70 Steering Lock Linkage

698 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  MBZTECH
I would like to connect the Lock function of the steering wheel on my 70 SBC SS Nova. I have the original 4-speed but with a Hurst Comp+ shifter. I have spent a long time searching the web trying to find a linkage kit that will fit and all I find are Camaro kits. If I remember correctly Hurst used to offer the kit as an option but I no longer see it. ANYONE HAVE A FIX for this? I do have headers if that makes a difference. I really want to set this back up...Thanks for any and all help...Jack

Sounds like the lock shoe spring may be broken, or the pin that engages into the lock plate is broken. Pull the steering wheel and look at the 11o'clock postion, there should be a pin that will pop up when the key is turned to off.
Philip I bet has a picture of it! He has pictures of everything it seems.
I'm confused, is he talking about the steering wheel lock or the reverse light linkage. I think he's referring to the linkage that goes from the reverse ****er lever to a bellcrank to the lever on the steering column.
