Im looking to have my 63 4 dr repainted and I would like to do as much as I can on a tight budget. Theres a lot of cracked insulation around the windows and windshields. I have the the 62 and 63 shop manuals and hope they cover what Ill need to know on removing as much of the trim as possible for painting to go easy. Looks like a number of tools that I will need and weather proofing replacement parts.

Questions:

  1. Where is the best place to get the specialty tools needed?
  2. Where is the best place to get all of the weatherproofing replacement parts that will fit properly?
  3. Any advice on the process? Things to watch for?

I bought my windshield gasket through Classic Industries. It's not in yet as noone will do my windshield on my 65 4 door because of the ss trim. I will probably get the rest of the w/stips etc through C2Only, or soffseal. I think the fuzzies should pry off with a small screwdriver or similar tool as they have clips. You might check with your local glass company, or resto shop to see what they say.
