Just installed timing cover and new gasket. If I had to do it all over again, I would have had the gasket in the house so it was warmer and more pliable. Surfaces were clean. small amount of 3M adhesive to block, let that set up, installed gasket. so far so good. Applied small bead of adhesive to perimeter of cover and installed it. Torqued everything snug to about 8 pounds. No problems except I did notice that when looking at the cover from the side, the gasket seems slightly wavy in between the bolts. No gaps or anything, just not completely 100% flat. I think if the gasket was warmer it may have flattened out a bit more. Was 50 degrees out. Think I should anticipate any problems? thanks.
