I'm not sure about this but I think by that time (76) the steering columns were the same in the Novas as the Camaros and T/As and many other GM cars. look at your local junk yard. I like to use column shift colmns because there cheaper and I can cut the shifter tab off and fiberglass it slick for nearly nothing.

Hi hk76,

There's a post here on Steve's telling how to modify a 75-79 tilt column to fit a 69-74 Nova. The reverse can probably be done but I think you'd be better off just getting a 75-79 tilt column. It'd be a direct bolt-in. Plus a 75-79 tilt should be easier to find (and likely less expensive) than a 73/74 tilt anyway.

The only difference is the floor plate and that is not too hard to change. I have a thread out there somewhere showing the columns from several GM cars. I put an 82 Eldorado tilt/telescopic in my 77. It just required the floor plate change and use of the Nova under dash bracket.
