I'm looking to make finally make my Nova fun to drive. I’m trying to work out all the little things that are bothering me. Next on the list, play in the steering wheel. I was thinking about doing the Jeep box conversion (I have an XJ rock crawler too) but I was thinking that I actually like the 1 finger steering of the Nova. Call me weird, but it has a nostalgic feel. Plus, it's not something I want to take turns fast in anyways. Anyone have suggestions on how I can adjust the play out of my steering. Not tighten it up but take out the 15˚ of play I have before it starts to do anything.

Have a friend wiggle the steering wheel back and forth to see where the play is coming from. Replace any worn parts. You can adjust the steering box by looseing the jam nut and tightening the adjuster down to take any slack out of the box.
