No worries, goal is done right vs. fast with shortcuts. I hope to retain stock consol shifter.

Building a car is kinda like home renovations. Takes twice as long as you budget and costs three times as much. or is that takes three times as long as you budget and costs twice as much.

On a day like today, it would be great to drive it eh?

Tranny is in, Had an electrical issue that delayed it again.

Before I get into details, just a big thanks to Pat 68SSGrandpa. Pat ran me out to Chilliwack 3 times to either get the Nova, and not get it, ( not ready) or move it to the next location of service. :notworthy: Plus we spent 2hrs Friday night working on an elec issue without success, with my handicapped son, which Pat was top shelf on spending real quality time with him.
Each ride was a blast in either his Nova or Benz.

Car is looking bare bones inside with new shifter.
Pat, said " leave it just like that, it looks so freaking animal, all business and fits the Steel Rat look" I laughed, yes it is . However, have some console ideas in mind.

In 4th with lock up engaged. 60 mph - 1900 - 2000 rpm. Did speed check. Sister in van beside me doing 98 Km, me doing 58 mph. So close 100 Km = 62 mph. Took it easy all the way home to the lights at Silverdale west of Mission, where those gas stations are. Launched hard at the lights, front end really rises, back end hooks hard and squirmed in 1st spinning, banged through those ratchet gears 1-2 -3 wow, motor screaming, launched straight, pretty good. back off, slow down , shift to 4th at 80 KM, engage lock up, cruise. 1900 - 2000 rpm @ 100km. Yes Pat that 1st gear is deep and wicked
Shifter is a brute, all business, hit it and hit it hard, no nudge, no ease in gear, smack it, whack it, go. Same coming down, pull hard back, 3 bang, 2 bang, and BANG when 1st grabs on down shift.

Have been looking at Blazer, Cavalier and S10 consoles. Some workable soloutions out there... and cup holders too. :D

.... so much for those brand new MT ET Streets, eh Shaun!!.

Well, when I put them on in the garage, there was a finger width clearance, you saw that. Now they are like an 1/8th from the fender  Like they expanded once out of the cool garage??

Anyway, will work that out.
Took Pat for a quick rip in the Nova today. His turn to be the passenger . The car spun the ET's through 1st and into 2nd gears and pulled and pulled. Big smile from Pat saying " oh yeah, that feels like 500 hp"

Yes, at the track some divisions put on tire shades to keep them from direct sun light, they can grow in height enough to seriously effect ET time.. Slicks can grow by expansion = heat inside the tire, and Mt's are soft to begin with.

Shaun could not hook 275 50 15" 10.9" wide MT ET streets on hot pavement, strips about 40 feet long in 1st, and 2nd, yup I will guess well over 475HP, it acts closer to the dyno near 500HP to do that.
No brake TQ off the line either, just punched it and smok'ed em.

Thanks for the ride, its alive, and well.
