My 70 has a 350 and a th400.

Sometimes (not all the time) when I'm shifting into gear it bangs in REALLY hard. I've been shifting into reverse before and it went in hard enough to actually chirp the rear tires. Other times it seems just fine.

It does this both going into drive and or reverse.

Anyone seen this before?

vaccumm leak?

This is the first place i would look.....
