Can anyone tell me what the threaded hole is in the side of a th 400 tranny. its on the same side as the kick down terminals, diagonally to the upper left. fluid pumps out when the the motor is turning over

that would be a trans cooler line there should be two of them on top of each other. there are pressure ports there as well youll need to block those too

On a TH-400 the kick-down is electric and is on the driver's side. Which is opposite of the cooler lines.

On my trans there is a plug in that spot you are talking about. It looks to be about 1/4" to 3/8" pipe plug. Not sure what it is for. It has been a long time since I have had a TH-400 apart.

PS of the trans has cooling lines.




DS has a pressure port for a test gauge.
(Ignore the red square, that is VIN location)
