i have a th-350 auto transmission from jegs. I recently replaces the dipstick tube for the tranny and the gasket from the pan. Its the first time i have serviced it. I put 6 quarts back into the tranny and it started leaking everywhere. Do you think that it was filled too much? Does anyone know how much it takes? Its a stock pan.

If you just dropped the pan then the trans only needs 2 1/2 to 3 quarts to refill it.

Does the dipstick tube have an o-ring around it or does it slip into a boot? The o-ring deal has always been a pain and half the time I cut the o-ring trying get the tube in and can't get it to seal. If that is the case transmission fluid will lead around there when the engine is off.

There is a vent tube on top the best I remember and if put 6 quarts in it it may be running out the top.
