Anyone have any clues on how to unfreeze the nuts on the front strutrods. Those puppies are rusted solid and I'd somehow like to keep them. I know a torch could burn them off, but I don't have a torch. I've tried a couple of solvents like freezeoff, etc. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. After I soaked it for a few days with WD40, I hit it with an impact wrench until it turned. It took quite a few impacts before it moved.

Mine were really rusty too. I used a wire brush to clean up the exposed threads as best I could , and tried the Sea Foam stuff for a couple days without luck. I then got out the propane to get the nuts good and hot. Broke loose with a breaker bar then and took off the rest of the way with an impact. Good Luck!

I had the same issue. I soaked them for a couple days with PB Blaster, used a 1/2" breaker bar, still wouldn't go. I heated 'em with a plumbers propane torch for about 3-5 minutes and presto! Sure stunk up the garage with burning rubber. In the end, the threads were pretty bad and I replaced the rods.

I heard the repop ones are junk. I found some originals that worked fine. You might want to check with novajoe. There's usually originals around with all the front clip upgrades going on.

For mine the rods were easy to find the nuts were hard to find. Finaly found some through moog.

hi if you did not get your problem resolved i just pulled my front clip i think mine are good. if interested let me know i have the complete front end with disc brk 5 lug.

Damn, where were you a year ago. I'll bet You'd have been cheaper than all the money I've spent so far. I now have all the parts and a couple a grand later, I'm about to finish the install, What's that about hind sight is 20/20. I started before I knew about this site, I'll bet I could have saved big bucks working with site members, thanks for the response.
